looking back...

As a 22 year old I am no spring chicken when it comes to college life and it's responsibilities, so when I encounter a teacher or system I really like I tend to do better in my school work. This is my last semester at TCC and the first semester at Norfolk State University career. I have had many different types of teachers and thier phipsophies on how teaching should be done. As far as English 111, I have had a blast. I'm sure you hear that you are the youngest teacher many students have come across and I'm sure it can throw some kids off. I felt it was reasuring to have a younger teacher especially in English because usually my previous english teachers though middle school and college are usually older women who lack any sense of humor to engage with the students. The teaching style was really great due to the communication between students and yourself. Envovling videos, songs, and internet items were a great new-age way of grabbing the students attention. One drawback to the beginning of the semester was the piling up of papers instead of having a more spread out system. It was great to see you take the time to ask the honest opinon of the students to show that you are willing to grow as a teacher through critiism. The comments on the essays were some what clear on showing what was wrong, why, and how to fix the problem. Overall, the class was great in showing that english can be an exciting course and I encourage any student who has difficulty in english to try a different system by taking your class.
